Dr Zoe Lucock

Dr Zoe Lucock is a behavioral gerontologist with a passion for embedding behavior-analytic service provision within the mainstream dementia care, enriching the lives of older adults with behaviour analysis, and disseminating our rich speciality to other behaviour analysts around the world.

Dr Lucock’s publications in behavioral gerontology can be found in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Analysis in Practice and Behavioral Interventions. She has also been the chair for the ABAI Behavioral Gerontology Special Interest group since 2021, leading the group to create it’s first ever webinars and resources for behaviour analysts interested in working with older adults.

A regular presenter at behavioral conferences across the globe such as ABAI and EABG, Zoe has presented on a variety of topics relating to older adults with learning disabilities and dementia, ethical issues in behavioral gerontology, assessments with older adults with dementia, and interventions working with older adult carers living in their own homes. Unsurprisingly given these topics, she has a special interest in dementia in particular, and how to understand this disorder from a behaviour-analytic perspective and the implications this has for clinical decision making.

After a PhD in behavioral gerontology and founding the first ever provider of behavioral gerontology service in the UK, Dr Lucock is well versed in both the research and clinical issues practitioners encounter when working with this wonderful population. Enrich is Dr Lucock’s passion project, running alongside her full time job within the National Health Service. This allows her to share her love of behavioral gerontology with those who are also passionate about enriching the lives of older adults with our wonderful science!
